Quarter Midget Racing
What To Expect?
QM Racing is a family oriented sport. Dads, moms, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles and close friends can all be found pitching in as crew chiefs, mechanics, morale boosters, and running the local clubs.
Like any other competitive sport QM racing can bring the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, sometimes in the same day.
The sport can be daunting for some that haven't been exposed to the auto racing environment. The most important thing is to ask a lot of questions and don't be afraid to ask for help. QM racing is like a big family.
Costs can vary greatly in the sport and depend on your objectives. Running multiple cars at highly competitive regional/national events obviously requires more time and money than running one car at local weekly races. A new family to the sport can find a good used car and safety gear for between $1500-$2500. You can always upgrade/expand equipment after ensuring the sport is a good fit for your family.
